gold coast wedding venue

Planning a wedding in just three months (or even less) might seem like a whirlwind, but with focused organisation, a clear vision and a great list of vendors, it’s entirely achievable. Here at Fleay’s Events, we have been chosen by hundreds of couples who have opted to say their I Do’s after a short engagement. If you’ve recently gotten engaged, there is no need to wait years to tie the knot. You may even be surprised at what you can achieve in a short period when planning your wedding day. We give you a step-by-step guide on navigating this exciting journey, with insights into how our venue can support your special day.

Month 1 – You’ve decided to get married, yay!

This first month of planning truly sets the stage for your entire wedding. With a tight timeline, it’s crucial to focus on locking in the essentials so you can move forward with confidence. Here are the first steps to ensure you’re starting off on the right foot.

Set your date and budget

Begin by selecting a wedding date within the next three months. Flexibility can be advantageous, especially if you’re open to weekdays or off-peak times, which may offer more availability and potential cost savings. Establishing a clear budget early on will guide all subsequent decisions, such as guest numbers.

Choose Your Venue

Securing a venue is paramount, as it determines your wedding date and influences other planning aspects. Our Gold Coast venue specialises in intimate elopements and weddings, offering tailored packages that simplify the planning process. With our all-inclusive services, including catering, styling and staff, we can alleviate much of the coordination stress, allowing you to focus on personal touches.

Curate Your Guest List

Given the condensed timeline, consider hosting a more intimate gathering. Our elopement packages can cater to a guest list of just 10 or a maximum of 45.  A smaller guest list not only simplifies logistics but also creates a more personal and meaningful atmosphere.

Send Invitations Promptly

Once your date and venue are confirmed, send out invitations as soon as possible. Digital invitations such as Paperless Post can expedite the process and is an eco-friendly alternative.

Month 2 – Time to lock it all in!

Now that the big-ticket items are handled, it’s time to dive into the details. This phase is all about making decisions that reflect your vision and tying together the elements that will bring your wedding or elopement to life.

Select Attire

With limited time, explore off-the-rack wedding dresses or suits that require minimal alterations. Visit some local boutiques or find your perfect dress online such as the likes of Stillwhite, where you can purchase new, used or pre-owned wedding dresses for a fraction of the price.

Hire Key Vendors

Focus on securing essential vendors such as a photographer, celebrant, florist and hair and makeup. Our venue can assist in providing a list of vendors that have experience with weddings at Fleay’s, which helps streamline this process for you!

Arrange Accommodation

If you have out-of-town guests, consider arranging hotel room blocks or providing accommodation recommendations to ensure their comfort. Fleay’s is conveniently located close to bustling Burleigh and is just a short drive from the local airport for those who have interstate guests joining them.

Month 3 – It’s almost time!

With the wedding day fast approaching, the final month is all about tying up loose ends and ensuring everything is in place. This is your moment to focus on the details and get excited for the big day!

Obtain a Marriage Licence

Research the legal requirements in your area and ensure you lodge your notice of intended marriage application form. Have a discussion with your chosen celebrant to discuss all of the legal requirements before saying I Do.

Confirm with Vendors

Reach out to all vendors to reconfirm details and timelines. Our venue coordinator will work closely with you to ensure everyone is aligned and prepared for the big day.

Create a Day-Of Timeline

Develop a detailed schedule for the wedding day, including ceremony timing, reception events, and vendor arrivals. Our coordinator will be able to provide a run sheet to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Finalise Styling and Details

Confirm all styling elements, seating arrangements, and any personal touches you’d like to incorporate. Our venue provides items such as timber tables, chairs, a bar, napkins, plates, cutlery and glassware. You may also opt to use our styling elements including a ceremony arbour and dried floral arrangement. Many couples opt for a DIY option for their styling, so chat with a close family or friend, who can help with setting this up on the day. Alternatively, we also have a great list of wedding stylists who can help you create your dream day.

Enjoy Pre-Wedding Moments

Take time to relax and savour the days leading up to your wedding. Consider scheduling a spa day or a quiet evening with your partner to reflect on your journey together. Remember your day is about both of you – you’ve finally made it!
